Jan Exeter is a contemporary abstract artist based in Subiaco, Western Australia. A largely self-taught painter, she came to art later in life after a long career at a Western Australian university. Following the loss of her son in 2019, Jan rediscovered a creative side that had lain dormant since her school years, finding both inspiration and a new creative direction in abstract art.

Drawn to colour, texture and experimentation, Jan creates original works that evoke a sense of life, movement and growth. Each painting is an individual exploration, resulting in pieces that are distinctive and unique.

Jan held her first exhibition in 2026, where 15 of the 26 works on display were sold. She is a member of the Western Australian Society of Arts (WASA).
